Automotive SPICE®
Training Overview

Automotive SPICE® is the most important quality standard for the development of systems in the automotive industry today.  First published in 2005, it is now being further developed by the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA). At the same time, Automotive SPICE® is an important basis for the development of safety-relevant systems (ISO 26262, ISO 21434).
In addition to Automotive SPICE®, there are a number of other SPICE variants, e.g.:  Hardware Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Cybersecurity, Medical Engineering, Machine Learning.

You want to know the background, the importance in the industry and in particular the requirements of the car manufacturers without going into detail?
Then our one-day training “Automotive SPICE® in a Nutshell” is the right training for you!

Would you like to get a quick and practical introduction to the topic and discuss specific examples of implementation?
Then our “Practical Introduction” training courses are the right thing for you:
Automotive SPICE® – A Practical Introduction
Mechanical SPICE – A Practical Introduction
Hardware SPICE – A Practical Introduction
Automotive SPICE and Functional Safety – Combined
Systems Engineering aligned with Safety, Security and SPICE

Would you like to train as an Automotive SPICE® Assessor?
You will then go through a multi-stage training program (see illustration), which includes at least the following training courses with the associated examinations:

„Standard Lane“
intacs® Certified Process Expert: This training provides detailed model knowledge as well as relevant rules from the VDA Automotive SPICE® Guideline. The aim of the Process Expert training is to be able to provide organizations with optimal support on their process improvement journey.
intacs® Certified Provisional Assessor: Building on the Process Expert, this training further deepens model knowledge and advances training to become an assessor. The aim of the Provisional Assessor training is to be able to effectively support teams of assessors in carrying out assessments.

Alternative for both training courses: „Combined Lane“
intacs® Certified Process Expert und Provisional Assessor (Automotive SPICE® V4.0) – combined: This training course combines the two training courses “Process Expert” and “Provisional Assessor” with an examination at the end.

intacs® Certified Competent Assessor: The third and final stage of training leads to being allowed to lead assessments yourself after passing the examination.

Notes:
Training in the so-called “standard lane” is recommended, i.e. separate training and certification with corresponding periods of time in between to gain practical experience. However, there is also a “combined lane” in which the Provisional Assessor certification can be achieved with one longer training course and examination instead of two. The advantage is the potentially faster completion of the training, the disadvantage is the increased risk of failure due to increased learning and examination pressure.
In addition, so-called extension training may be necessary in order to have the knowledge and certification for a specific assessment scope (see figure in the middle).
We offer the following trainings:
intacs® certified Automotive SPICE® Cybersecurity Engineering
intacs® certified Automotive SPICE® Hardware Engineering
intacs® certified Automotive SPICE® Machine Learning
