Can AI help you create convincing engineering evidence within minutes?
Yes! But can you trust it?
In this webinar, we look back at our VDA SYS workshop “Make it or Fake it?”, where participants explored how generative AI can support the creation and review of engineering work products — and where the risks begin.
We will share what happened in the workshop exercises, how different groups approached AI-assisted creation and review, and what we observed when comparing human review, AI-supported review, and evidence forensics.
A key focus will be the question of trustworthiness: How can we distinguish useful AI support from weak, polished, or potentially fake evidence? We will discuss practical indicators such as engineering substance, consistency, traceability, provenance, and actual project use.
The session will combine a short experience report with practical examples and an open discussion on how AI can be used responsibly in engineering, quality assurance, and assessment contexts.
